Finally able to boat again

ReneDirks
So time for some repairs and upgrades. The 'sideways' mounted cam cleats have really been to no use and since I want to paint the boat it felt like a good moment to replace these. It wasn't easy to find a model that was going to fit sideways - and still be of a reasonable price. I am not sure this model is going to work, it may need to be raised a bit, but it's a fair attempt.

Hi Rene,

I must admit I have always thought that the Moore's arrangement of winch and "in-line" cleat was unsatisfactory and, from the number of non-standard adaptations you see on Moore's boats, most owners feel that way, so you are not alone. Your new version looks much better.

Mind you, the photo of the original on your boat seems to shows the cleat the wrong way round. It certainly would be unusable, not just awkward, facing that way!
