Hallo,

I am an almost 60 years old Dutchman and I have bought a Seahawk very recently.
It seems to be in perfect state, thanks to a lot of work by the last owner.
I am already looking forward to the first nice day's of 2015.
Hope someone can tell me how to find out the history of the boat, like the buildingnumber.

Regards,
Henk ten Kate

Hi Henk,

Welcome to the forum and I hope you enjoy your new boat.

What is the name of your boat or a sail number? I might have some photographs of it sent by a previous owner.

SeaHawks do not have build numbers. The best information about how to try and date a SeaHawk is at:
http://www.seahawk17.org.uk/description/dating.htm
As you will see, almost always it can only be  guesswork.
If you post some pictures (ideally in the "Help Desk" area, include some internal shots) I might be able to make some guesses at a date.

There seem to be more Dutch Seahawk owners. Where do you sail normally?

Nice and shallow water. We used to have a motorboat (Shetland 640) on the Veluwemeer at 'de oude Pol' - it's also were I passed out and were told I needed a new heart valve a few years ago, so mixed memories haha. It probably means you will not be motoring that much.

I ordered a small mast for the Seahawk so we can decide to use it to go (back) into Flevoland to motor around.

Enjoy!
