Pressure Washing the Hull

My teenage boat monkey John pressure washing the hull of Kismet.  Great sheets of 40 year old paint and makeup came off the old gal.  Still lovely lines for all that.  Painting will commence soon-ish.  We're going to paint her in a similar style to "Old Auk" (?) with a red hull.  I have little say so in the matter as Deb has taken over all cosmetics of our Kismet.  As the Rolling Stones sang, I am but a "Beast of Burden" at this point.

Hi Tom,

I suspect you're thinking of "Little Auk", a boat that is now in Latvia, having been sold by Mike Lowson, who runs as boatyard in Ullapool, Scotland. See:
http://www.northboats.co.uk/home.htm

There's a little about her at:
http://www.seahawk17.org.uk/boatshed/keellittleauk.htm
and at:
http://www.seahawk17.org.uk/boatshed/cabins.htm#littleauk
but the best two pictures of her on the site appear as "Image of the Day" on 8th and 13th of the month.

There's a great collection of photographs of her at:

That's the old mail list, now closed down for further posting, but it's still possible to view the images if you register there.

Re: Pressure Washing the Hull

That would be her.  The top will be a beige and we will be redoing the water line.  The previous owners had the waterline up under the first clink.  It's turning into a project boat!  But simple enough for all that, especially with the help I've recieved at thsi forum and from you.  Thanks ever so much...
