Roger Harris

RogerH
Hi all.

My name is Roger Harris. Ex flotilla skipper and large yacht captain.

I went down to Chichester today to have a look at Puffin #396, owned currently by Sea_Turtle, with a view to purchase. The boat was much as expected. The trailer posed a couple of questions.

Firstly, it's unbraked. What are people's views on the braked/unbraked issue?

Secondly, the trailer has a breakback mechanism which the current owner has never used. Was there a standard trailer for the Sea hawk, our do they vary a lot?

Can anyone shed any light on Puffin's past, particularly with reference to the trailer?

Many thanks,

Roger.

Hi Roger,

Welcome to the forum.

I've answered your questions in a post in the Help Desk area of the forum.

Given your background, I'd love to know what the attraction of a SeaHawk is for you.

Hi Greg.

Fun, in a nutshell! As the saying goes, small boat small problems - and of course the fun is inversely proportional to the waterline length!

Suzy and I have downsized to a bungalow in Pevensey Bay and just want a small, fun to sail, boat which demands little of us and gives plenty back.

We've looked at a lot of different boats online - Skipper 17, Winkle Brig 16, Sailfish 18 etc. Now we're at the stage of looking at real boats.

Hope that answers your question.

Cheers,

Roger.
